8123 Ehsaas Rashan Program Check CNIC Online 2024

This Ehsaas Rashan Program was started by the ex-prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan in November 2021, for middle and low-income families during the days of COVID-19. In Punjab, the registration of the Ehsaas Rashan Program is in the process whereas the families who are already registered through the Ehsaas Program portal are getting 2000 PKR monthly from the government of Punjab.

The same program has been launched in various districts of Pakistan which is providing beneficiaries with a cash amount of at least 1000 PKR. Ehsaas Rashan Riayat 2024-2025 Eligibility Criteria

All families whose monthly income is less than 50,000PKR are eligible to apply for this program. According to this, about 80 Lac Pakistani families will fall into the eligibility criteria and receive around 100 billion rupees from the government.

Other criteria which a person must meet to get eligible for the program are as follows;

Must be a middle or low-income family
Must have a valid CNIC
Must have a mobile SIM registered in his name
Only one person will be eligible to apply in the family for the ehsas program

On the other hand, if you are a shopkeeper, the eligibility criteria you need to meet are as follows;

The merchant should have a bank account
You must have a physical shop since this ehsas program doesn’t cover online shops or e-commerce businesses
As a shopkeeper, you’ll be registered with the national bank of Pakistan so you have to download NBP’s mobile app from the Google app store on your smartphone. Through this app, merchants will ascertain the buyers’ eligibility and pass on the subsidy rightfully.

According to a recent update about this Rashan program, all individuals and families who are employees of the Punjab government under the BPS-01 to BPS-05 scale are also eligible to get subsidies on groceries. In this way, every class-4 employee will be able to benefit from this program.

The government has provided two simple ways to get registered for this ehsaas rashan program, for both consumers and shopkeepers. You can apply through any of the given registration methods as follows;

Through the Punjab Ehsaas web portal

For easy registration to the Ehsaas Rashan Program, the government of Punjab has launched a web-based portal ehsaas.punjab.gov.pk . On visiting the website, you’d see two interfaces, one for shopkeepers and one for consumers or deserving people.

To register yourself as a deserving person, you need to fill in some information in the corresponding sections

Through Punjab 8123 SMS service

For people who don’t have access to or knowledge of the internet, the government has launched another registration method. In this, you just need to send an sms stating your fourteen-digit CNIC number to the 8123 code. Soon, you’ll get a reply from the officials about your eligibility and registration.

However, while using this method, make sure

your Mobile SIM is registered in your name and CNIC number
your CNIC is not expired.

Ehsaas Khidmat Markaz

you may also visit a nearby Khidmat Markaz for your registration. However, before going to Khidmat Markaz, make sure you have your original CNIC and a mobile phone containing the SIM registered in your name. A good thing here is that the concerned staff at Khidmat Markaz doesn’t charge any registration or service fee.

The government has provided different QR codes, one for consumers and one for shopkeepers. So, you just need to scan one of these QR codes to get registered in the ehsas program.

The eligibility of applicants is finalized by the concerned authority within 2-3 days. However, you can check your application status by either visiting the official website or by sending sms to 8171. Usually, the eligible candidates receive an SMS within a few days from the official authorities. Also, Rashan cards are issued to eligible people with which they can purchase goods at a discounted rate from the designated superstores.

Ehsas Rashan Program Benefits

As stated before, the program was launched for poor families who are suffering due to the high inflation rate in Pakistan. Initially, the deserving families were eligible to get a subsidy of 30% on five basic food items including ghee, cooking oil, pulses, sugar, and ghee. However, recently, the government has increased the subsidy rate as now, consumers can enjoy a 40% subsidy on essential edibles.

In addition to providing huge discounts on bread and butter, the government of Punjab is also issuing 2000 PKR to deserving families so they can purchase things that are not covered by the Rashan program. On the other hand, all the designated shopkeepers will get an 8% subsidy on getting registered under this ehsas program. If your registration request has been approved by the government, you’d be able to purchase essentials for your kitchen from the designated ehsaas Rashan stores. For this purpose, you need to go shopping at the store with your mobile phone which contains the registered SIM number. Once you buy items from the store, ask the shopkeeper to give you the Rashan program special discount.

At that time, you’ll receive an SMS on your mobile containing a special code. Share this code with the shopkeeper to verify your eligibility and that’s it, enjoy around 30-40% subsidy on the items purchased. A good thing here is that you don’t have to own a high-tech smartphone since the code can be received on all sorts of old-fashioned mobile phones.

And guess the best part? On purchasing fewer items in one month, you’ll be able to enjoy the discounted subsidy next month. In this way, you can purchase your basic kitchen items at even lower rates next month.

Latest update on the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat

The new government of Pakistan has made some changes in the Rashan program of ex-PM Imran Khan. According to the new policy, eligible Pakistani citizens will be able to get free wheat flour from the government under the same Rashan program, from now on. This initiative was taken considering the terrible shortage of wheat and wheat flour in the country.

According to the latest update, now every Pakistani who is eligible for the Rashan program can get three bags of ten kilograms of wheat flour without any cost. However, citizens who are not eligible for the ehsas program will get only one bag of ten kilograms of wheat flour.

During Ramadan, the Rashan program was halted as the government began distributing free wheat flour. However, with the conclusion of Eid, the government of Punjab and the Ministry of Ehsas program has decided to resume the program immediately. Another good news here is that the eligible citizens will now be able to receive a cash value of around 4500 PKR considering the increasing inflation and poverty in the country.
